A
full seasons racing in the 2007 Caterham
Superlight Challenge with champion team
Hyperion Motorsport is the fantastic prize
on offer from the Silverstone Race School
to the winner of its newly launched Racing
Driver Scholarship.
Aimed
at racers and complete novices alike, the
Silverstone Scholarship offers a unique
and valuable opportunity for a driver to
make a name for himself in Caterhams
premier UK championship, which next season
will feature a programme of British F3/GT
Championship-supporting double-header events.
The
winner, to be selected following a rigorous
two-day assessment by Silverstone instructors,
will win the use of a Hyperion-prepared
Caterham Superlight for the year as well
as event entry fees and testing, a package
worth approximately £40,000.
Silverstone
Circuits managing director Richard Phillips
said: Silverstone is always looking
at ways to support young drivers and introduce
grass roots opportunities in the sport.
This is a fantastic opportunity for drivers
who want to take their first steps towards
becoming a racing driver, and we look forward
to nurturing the talent of the next big
names in motor sport.
Three
two-day assessment courses are planned,
one in December, another in February and
the last in March. Would-be racers must
be over 16 on 1 March 2007 and between 5ft
4in and 6ft 3in. A racing licence is not
required.
