THE JUNIOR SALOON CAR
CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 14-17 YEAR OLDS
The BRSCC
T-Car Championship was the world's first to allow junior
drivers (14-17 years) to compete against each other in
specially designed saloon cars.
Today, it
is the UK's premier series for young racers. Open to anyone
aged from 14 years to 16 years (at the start of the first
championship round), the T-Cars Championship has an unrivalled
pedigree for producing champions of the future - Jonathan
Cocker (British GT), Tom Chilton (BTCC), Ryan Lewis (F3) and
Tom Boardman (Seat) are just a handful of T-Car graduates who
have progressed to the top-ranks of British
motorsport.
Utilising
a purpose-built, tubular space-frame chassis and the
ultra-reliable Ford Duratec 2000cc engine, T-Cars are designed
with safety in mind. Power is restricted to 145bhp and engines
sealed to ensure a fair and level playing-field.
Hyperion
are committed to developing young drivers into serious racers
and offer all T-Car entrants the opportunity to join our Motorsport Academy. Designed to fit-in
around schoolwork and exams, we firstly ensure that all
candidates are fully prepared to race. During the course of
the year, we then concentrate on developing track skills
whilst also covering a range of disciplines required by the
modern professional (diet, fitness, media & presentation,
sponsorship, car set-up and data interpretation).
